2010_07_02 MachLene: Metal Front and Rear
Installing front hood hinge aprons. Found large hole in firewall right behind where apron attached. This will need metal repair and very simple, but requires very good welding skills. Repair coming soon. This is when torque box damage was discovered. Also note: previous restoration work– they left previous debris and old parts in trunk wells?– never with Big Chief would this past! Gas tank throat will need minor repair, but nothing major.
2010_06_23 MachLene: CobraJax Leaves ):
CobraJax was very good help, in fact, he made much progress on HIS ‘Stang– I was there to teach and guide the process. I hated to see him go. He was a pleasure and very willing to learn all he could about the “art of restoration” even thought we were ONLY doing repairs. We worked 12 to 14 hours a day– and he was on vacation? Always remember my newbie Stangers, half the fun of Classic Mustangs is working on them.

November 12- Laurens’s Metalwork and Water Test
Here’s Tim prepping Laurens’s Mustang for the metalwork we’ll be doing over the next couple of days, replacing all the bondo with lead filler! Pat’s also doing some work, but this time around he’s running a water test to see if we need to do anymore fiberglassing on Laurens’s cowl. As you can see, there is some leaking on the passenger’s side, so Pat and the crew have a little more work to do in that area.
October 30- Laurens’s Cowl Work Update
October 28, 29- Laurens’s Cowl Repair
Here’s our fiberglass work on Laurens’s cowl vents. As you can see, we’ve installed the repair collars and are using fiberglass to do the rest of the necessary sealing. We will be water-testing this work extensively to ensure there are no further leaks, then we will clean up the rough edges of the fiberglass and paint over everything so it looks nice.

Here’s some more pictures of us doing cowl-collar repair work and metalwork on Laurens’s shock tower aprons and suspension mounting brackets.
