March 18- Cathy’s Metalwork Overview
Here’s a quick overview of Cathy’s floorpans before we begin the metalwork–as we already knew, there was quite a bit of rust and damage to the undercarriage, so we’ll be doing metalwork, grinding and welding, for a while yet on this one.
March 8- Angel’s Sandblasting, Part II
Here’s Angel’s Mustang up on the rotisserie, and the sandblasting is going smoothly. Unfortunately, we’re finding bondo on the fenders which some past owner had used it in lieu of lead filling to repair some dents in the body. This will require us to to lead filling and smooth everything out, which will take some time, but we’re very good with lead filling and have done it numerous times in the past.
March 6- Angel’s Sandblasting, Part I
We’re sandblasting the doors and fenders of Angel’s coupe before we move on to blast the unibody itself. You can also see us mounting the unibody onto the rotisserie brackets so we can blast the whole Mustang all the way around.
March 4- Tony’s Full Inspection
We just got Tony’s Mustang in to our shop, where Big Chief will be doing a little work on it before we send it over to Tony in Louisiana, where he’ll be tinkering and driving her in his free time.
March 5- Dave’s Underdash Inspection
Here we are doing some photo inspections on Dave’s underdash area. You can see some close-ups of the damage in the floorpans, which is pretty minor and won’t be a problem to fix. The rest looks very good, solid undercoated metal and damage-free.
March 4- Angel’s Loading to Sandblast
Here’s PDog loading Angel’s Mustang up to take it down to our shop, where it will be sandblasted after we load it up on the rotisserie.
March 3- Dave’s Sandblasting
We just brought in our sandblasters and will be going multiple projects at once: Dave’s, Angel’s, and Biff’s Mustangs. Here are the pics of some of the blasting we did for Dave–though his Mustang isn’t fully disassembled yet, so we could only do a portion of the blasting work that needs to be done for a full restoration.
February 22- Dave’s Dash Disassembly
We’ve been disassembling Dave’s interior and have begun the inspection of the various components. We’re checking the connections and lights on the dash cluster, for instance, as well as the fabric on the sun visors and dash pad. We found a slight nick in the dash pad, we’ll be discussing with Dave if he wants us to re-use this pad or replace it for a new one.
February 20- Biff’s Loading to Sandblast
Here’s Timbo and the Big Chief loading Biff’s Shelby up to transport it to our larger restoration shop–up until then it has been at Big Chief’s home, where he keeps the projects he likes to devote his personal attention to–where it will undergo sandblasting from a good friend of ours who is a sandblaster with lots of experience and very careful attention to detail, so we can trust him not to blast away all those all-important Shelby numbers.
February 19- Laurens’ Old Parts
Here are Laurens’ old parts, which we aren’t sending overseas. We’ll probably be selling these parts off as soon as we can.
