Some notes to answer a few of Dave’s questions:

- The rust on the rear bumper is surface rust that is caused by the humidity here in Florida. It will require continuous maintenance. To minimize the humidity’s effects, a car cover will help tremendously in absorbing moisture. Also, a dehumidifier placed in the garage with the car is good practice. We have a special rust polish (a preventative coating) that we’ll use on the rust spot(s). The chrome on the car does have to be chrome-polished every so often.

- Rust was discovered in the snaps that secure the convertible top boot. This can be corrected by replacing the snap boot screws with all stainless steel screws. This will be noted on your project sheet. There is rust polish that can help as well.

- Concerning the color of the car, the paint on it now is not the original paint nor matching color. The original color was a light mint green.

- We haven’t determined if the Mustang is numbers matching yet but we will find out pretty soon. We are in the process of a full inspection. From this, we will develop an extensive project sheet. You will have access to the project sheet too and from it, we will plan together the details of what you want to have done.

Hey Dave, did you see my bald head, Big Chief? I found your leak on passenger side. You have a hold about 1″x3″ in the toe pans? Not sure, but something was hit from the bottom your babe. What is her name, Dude? Also the air conditioning drain was not connected and was draining very lightly into the floor pan passenger side. I will need to examine further but looks like some on drivers side as well. Please note next group of pics… (it does not show this in this set). I will be commenting more as we work. Wayne is the guy in the pics that has been assigned to your project, and yes of course Big Chief is ALWAYS present watching and helping on every aspect. It has to pass my scrutinize inspection and quality control first. I love my work and it will be the very best you have ever seen… just watch as I make your Babe perfect, what is her name, again?.

    Dear Big Chief

Thank for the updates and pictures. I am really grateful it is your crew making my car perfect. I want thank Wayne also for taking on project. The car is named after my young neighbor Pete. Pete recieved my car for me when it was delivered from Calif. Pete loved my car an was very interested in what I wanted to do. Pete died at home unexpectedly 24 hours after he helped position my car in my garage. He left a young widow and 3 small children. I hope to give them rides in Pete when it is finished. They are excited about going topless. I hope the project will go as fast as you first thought it would.

Looking forward to the nextstep. Still blog checking twice daily. By the way youare so bald.
