Let Me Tell You About the Owner...
Doug met Andy at the Russo & Steele Auto Show, went through auction up to $93k, but he turned it down to avoid all the commissions and fees that would be on top. From Michigan, car will be going back there. Works on high-end Mustangs all the time, sometimes Bosses or Mach Is--but Andy's a Shelby Man through and through. He knows them in-and-out, and can restore them back to factory specs, every nut and bolt. In fact, his next project is a 1967 Shelby, which he hopes to have finished within the next year.
Thank you for helping us save this beauty! She needs to be in the right hands: someone that will garage her and love her.
MustangOnlyOne Summary:
This 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has undergone a complete, nuts-and-bolts rotisserie restoration and has been reassembled to concours specifications. It was restored back to original, with 0 miles on the newly-rebuilt numbers-matching 429 4v V8 Cobra Jet Ram Air engine and 4-speed close ratio manual transmission. According to Andy, this car came from the factory in the red color you see now, despite the VIN and Marti indicating that it should be Black Jade; he tells us that Ford is known to have done that on occasion to produce more units. This car is loaded with tons of options: Traction-Loc differential, Visibility Group, Goodyear tires, Sport Deck rear seat, power disc brakes, power steering, power ventilation, Am 8-Track stereo radio, tinted glass, and deluxe safety belts with a warning light. This car is in the Shelby American World Registry, with complete history, and has a complete report by Kevin Marti. Everything on this car is restored back to exactly as it came from the factory.
